Free policy review
Send me your current policy and I'll look for gaps, overlaps and anything worth changing. I explain what I find in plain English, at no charge.
What I look at for you
- What's covered and on what basis, explained without the jargon.
- What's left out: especially water, earthquake, rentals and empty periods.
- Limits and deductibles: including any strata deductible you could be charged.
- Conditions: the rules that can affect a claim, like keeping the heat on in winter.
- Liability: the amount, and whether anything you do falls outside it.
What to send
- The page that lists your coverages, limits and deductibles
- The full policy wording, if you have it
- For a condo, the strata's insurance summary
Questions people ask me
Is the review really free?
Yes. Brokers are paid by the insurer when a policy is placed, so reading what you have costs you nothing. If the answer is that your policy is fine, that's a good result.
Will you try to sell me a new policy?
Only if the review finds a gap or a better fit, and then it's your call. The review is a read of what you have, not a sales pitch.
Can you review a policy from a bank or another broker?
Yes. Where a policy came from doesn't change what it says. I review policies bought from banks, credit unions, other brokers and insurers directly.
Send what you have and I'll tell you plainly what I see.
